The European season got underway for Celtic Speed with the first round of the European Group C Championship in Jarama, Spain on the weekend of April 1st and 2nd.

Tommy Dreelan and Aaron Scott paired for this event driving the Leyton House liveried Porsche 962. Aaron set the 2nd fastest qualifying time to place the car 2nd on the grid for both races.

Race 1 took place on Saturday evening and the car finished 2nd in the C1 category and 3rd overall.

Race 2 took place on Sunday and some set up changes overnight really boosted Tommy’s confidence as he took the start and rocketed away in 1st place. After the pit stops Aaron build on Tommy’s lead to bring the car home 1st in class and 1st overall also taking the lead in the Championship.

The next race for Group C takes place at Spa Francorchamps on May 20/21.

The first Masters race of the season for Formula One took place the following weekend in Barcelona so the truck headed straight to Barcelona from Jarama.

Tommy took the wheel of his Williams FW08, ex Keke Rosberg car for this event and qualified the car 13th in class and 18th overall for the first of 2 races.

In race 1 Tommy finished 11th in class, 15th overall after a great scrap during the race with American racer Robert Blain and fellow Irish driver James Hagan.

For race 2 Tommy finished 13th in class and 17th overall.

The next race for the Williams will be at Brands Hatch on the weekend May 27/28 at the popular GP track.
